Special Morning with Mommy

Wednesday morning I didn't have to be at school until 10.  This gave me some extra time with Josh.  I was feeling pretty good - having a bout of morning sickness I could handle- so I thought I'd make him an extra special breakfast.  This breakfast is one that my Grandma Evelyn used to make me...Mickey Mouse Pancakes!!!

I wanted to make the perfect Mickey head, so I had a ton of implements to try.  I even got out my two different sized cookie scoops!

Right out of the gate, I made the perfect Mickey.  He sat down and ate it while watching cartoons.  (I was feeling extra generous that day.)

He loved it!  He had just a touch of butter and syrup on his.  He even ate it with a Snoopy fork all by himself!  Zoey was hoping for some crumbs, but she didn't get any.  He ate it all!

I really love the extra time I get to spend with Josh and I love making it special.

Coloring

Coloring.  This is a Mommy project.  Daddy won't even color with him.  We keep our crayons on top of the refridgerator..gee...wonder why.  We have one color book - Mickey Mouse and he loves to color in it.  THen again, he's just as happy with a blank sheet of paper.  I think the fact that they color in Sunday School has helped a ton.  He's getting better and better at holding the crayons.  We have the thick triangular ones, we have regular ones, we have thick round ones, we even have the special ones for toddlers!

He is such a serious colorer.

Check out this concentration.  I love how he needed to get a closer look at the paper to do a good job, so he flopped on his belly.

Then the coloring came quickly to an end.  I was busy doing something, not even 2 feet away from the little booger, and my 6th sense as a mother tells me to look over at him.  He's inside the laundry basket, has dumped all his magnetic letters in there and has the one crayon I didn't take from him (because I couldn't find it) and has colored all over the bottom of the basket.

No biggie.  Came off easy.  But boy, that kid is creative!

Stupid Baker's Man

I've been in the baking mood lately.  Not because I want to be, but because nothing sounds good.  I know kind of an oxymoron,  but nothing sounds good to eat, so I think of something that sounds good - and consequently, most of the time I have to make it!  For instance, in the last 6 days, I've spent 4 of them making something with my favorite chef - Josh!  He's always up for 'helping Mommy stir.'  I've made cinnamon rolls, a new recipe of chocolate chip cookies (they were awful!), seafood dip, and corn dip.  Now, don't get me wrong.  Some of these things I made were good, but only the first time.  I'd take a bite or eat them for one day, then the next, they made me want to hurl.

Here is my favorite chef and my favorite tester.  They were licking the beaters from the cookies.

And all this time, poor Chad just hangs on for the ride.  The messy kitchen, a wife who can't make up her mind on anything let alone something as small as what to eat, not to mention the monumental mood swings.  (No that wasn't an earthquake, just my mood swing.)

Hang in there guys....only 7 more months to go!

11 Fatal Things to Say to A Pregnant Woman

11 fatal things to say to your pregnant wife:
11.  I finished the Oreos.
10.  Get your *own* ice cream, Buddha!"
9.  Are your ankles supposed to look like that?
8.  Geez, you're awfully puffy looking today.
7.  Y'know, looking at her, you'd never guess that Pamela Lee had a baby!
6.  Fred at the office passed a stone the size of a pea. Boy, that's gotta hurt.
5.  Retaining water? Yeah, like the Hoover dam retains water!
4.  Not to imply anything, but I don't think the kid weighs 40 lbs.
3.  I sure hope your thighs don't stay that flabby forever.
2.  Darned if ya ain't about 5 lbs. away from a surprise visit from that Richard Simmons fella.
And the most fatal thing to say to your pregnant wife is:
1.  "You don't have the guts to pull the trigger, Lardass."

But my personal favorite for runner up is:
"Everyother man does it!"

Women Lie

I've come to the conclusion that women lie.

Women lie about thier age.
Women lie about their weight.
Women lie about pregnancy.

Every woman when they're asked how their doing during pregnancy lie like dogs.

"How are you doing?"

And the answers are always lies:

"Good"
"Great"
and my personal favorite....
"I love being pregnant or I loved every moment of being pregnant."

This crap is a mass conspiracy of some evil, twisted woman cult to get more women to share in their misery.

Just thought I would share my thoughts on the subject.

Gee....wanna ask me how I'm doing??  (Insert sarcasm mark here)

Pumpkin Patch 2010

This past weekend, we took a trip to a pumpkin patch.  Well, it's actually a dairy farm, but there's a pumpkin field there too.  It has a 'petting zoo' with a cow, seven lambs, two small pink pigs, some chickens, billy goats, rabbits, and a small bird or some sort (guineas maybe?).  Josh really had a good time here.

Daddy was nominated to be official Petting Patrol since I wasn't sure I should be touching all those animals.  With my luck, I'd get Phinoslytonosis - a disease no one has heard of, but is lethal (and also one I just invented).

We petted cows....

Fed cows

Rode the tractor to the pumpkin patch

Walked with Daddy to find just the right pumpkin

Smiled with Mommy with the perfect pumpkin.
(Notice the excitement on my face as I fight thru the urge to puke.)

Went back to the farm to play.

And pet more cows

And ride tractors  (This might have been his favorite part)

Pose for a funny picture

Ride a horsey swing

Have fun in the bouncy house

It was a great day!!!
