The Lord's Prayer

Josh is so stinkin' smart.

He and Daddy work every night on memorizing Bible verses.

It's something that just he and Daddy do together.  Just the two of them.

They've memorized Psalm 23 and John 3:16 and Luke 10:27a.

Now they've memorized The Lord's Prayer.

He's had it memorized for at least a month now; its just taken me this long to record and post it.

He gets his smarts from his mother!

Easter 2014-Part 3

The last spot was the park.  We first hunted eggs, then dyed them.

Josh had a bucket, but Macey didn't.  So....we improvised.

I lost track of how many cups of dye my kids spilled.

It's a good thing we did it at the park.

It was perfect weather!!!

Easter 2014 -Continuted

Then it was GAME ON for the scavenger hunt.  There were at least 10 kids.  About 4 to a car.....so maybe more like 12 kids?  I don't know.

My car was L-O-U-D!
I had my 2 kids, plus 2.  Thank goodness for my 3rd row seat.

The first stop was at Granny's to get a golden egg.  It had a dollar in it!

The second stop was to go to Aunt Tera's parent's house.

THEY HAD PUPPIES!!!!!!!!

The 3rd stop was at Aunt Charlene's for a relay race.

Each group had 3 kids and there were 2 bowls-one at each end.  Then each kid had to take a sponge, dip it in the bowl full of water, run to the other end, and squeeze the water out of it into the empty bowl.

Josh caught on right away.....at least to the running part.

It took Macey a little longer to catch on, but once she did.......

Then there was one more stop....the park to dye Easter eggs and hunt them!

Easter 2014

This year we spent Easter in Tulsa.

It's my favorite place to go.  Well, Aunt Charlene's is.

We left early in the morning (by 8:30) and the kids were real Road Warriors.

We treated ourselves 2 1/2 hours into the journey with ice cream at McDonalds.

Stopped by Aunt Charlene's for a quick lunch, then off to Aunt Tera's for cookie decorating and a scavenger hunt.  (Tera's not really an Aunt, but it makes more sense to call her that.  I'll explain the genealogy some day when my kids ask.)

Don't 'cha just love Josh's crazy hair?!

And this is the picture I get from Josh when I ask him to smile.  He can't take his eyes off the excitement!
Hopefully the blue icing by his eyebrow WILL come off......

And there was just a little  bit of time to go outside and play.

Macey just LOVES Kendell.  She also loved their 2 dogs.

And I love that the Brown kids are old enough to play with my kids, but not too old that they think my kids are "too babyish" to play with!  It rocks!

Windy, Windy, Windy

Boy howdy!

We've had some W-I-N-D-Y days lately!

And with that, we've had some problems.

At first, we thought that the air conditioner blew off the cement slab and was banging the side of the house.

Then we figured it was shingles banging on the roof.

Right above the dining room table.

Not the ambiance I was hoping for.

And then there was a day when the wind was so strong, it broke a tree of ours.

But on some slightly windy days, we're able to fly kites.

The kids love them.  And we only buy kites that are cheap.

Cuz really.....are they going to last long in Kansas?!

But all the hassle of shingles and trees and figuring out how to fly kites is worth it.

For these two.
